Printing to Campus Printers with MPrint

Overview

With MPrint, you can print from your own computer to printers in the Campus Computing Sites, printers in ResComp Sites, and other printers that are part of the standard computing services.

What Is MPrint?

MPrint is a web-based application that allows you send documents to U-M printers from your personal computer or mobile device. MPrint accepts documents via upload or a via variety of external services (Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, and MFile IFS/AFS) and will convert the document, if necessary, before printing. MPrint is available on printers across the university, including Campus Computing Sites and MiWorkspace.

What File Types Can You Print?

MPrint supports the following file types, but the preferred type is PDF (Portable Document Format):

.ai, .bmp, .c, .cpp, .csv, .doc, .docx, .eps, .gif, .h, .ico, .jp2,
.jpeg, .jpg, .m, .odf, .pdf, .php, .png, .pps, .ppsx, .ppt, .pptx, .ps,
.psd, .py, .rtf, .tif, .tiff, .txt, .xls, .xlsx, .xml, .xps

MPrint Locker

MPrint’s Locker feature allows users to upload documents quickly and easily for later use. Once in your Locker, a document can be sent to any available printer via the MPrint web application.

Enabling the Locker feature will create a folder named “MPrint” (if it does not already exist) in the selected eligible service (Box, Dropbox, or MFile IFS/AFS). All documents uploaded to the Locker will be placed in this folder. To enable the locker, you must first activate one of the eligible services.
